EXPERIMENTAL ERRORS
One experimental error we had that could have affected our results is that we kept our tube containing our flies vertical the first couple days, which could have caused some of the flies to get stuck in the fly media at the bottom of the tube and die.
Another possible experimental error we could have done is incorrectly identify the sex of the flies. By mistaking the sex of the flies it could have affected our results.
To improve this lab, we recommend future students to obtain a higher count of fruit flies. The larger the amount of offspring, the more likely your theoretical results will match your experimental results. This was an experimental error we experienced. It primarily affected our null hypothesis; although we anticipated a correlation between the phenotypes expected and observed.
